2011 in Review

We started the year running and began working on our first fundraiser on January  1st.  Our first annual St. Patrick’s Fundraiser on March 19th was a huge success and tickets were sold out three weeks before the event.  We received great contributions and support for our  silent auction, as well as for the dinner dance, and were able to start helping children and young adults immediately following the event.

We then decided to have another fundraiser in July that would include all ages with a rafting trip down the Stanislaus River.  Unfortunately, due to the high volume of water, the event had to be canceled due to safety concerns.

Our final fundraiser for 2011 was on October 1st, a wine tasting and home tour event at Casa Estrella.  Greg and Karen Ellis were kind enough to offer their beautiful home to Danielle’s Gift for the fundraiser.  This was our first wine tasting event and we all learned a lot.  It was another success and a great time was had by all.

Because of the tremendous support we received at our fundraisers, online donations, donations made at Christmas time and in memory of loved ones, we were able to support the following individuals and organizations:

*Arjay Wiles – Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy – Therapy not covered by insurance

*Stanislaus County Foster Youth (anonymous by request) – Assistance with food, gas, and housing cost during his stem cell transplant

*Keith Howe – Special care needs – help with  extermination of bedbug infestation

*Fava Kids – organization that helps children with cancer

*Javier Guerrero – learning disability – tutoring

*Journey for Jessica – Donation towards therapy for brain injury

*Feed My Starving Children – Organization to feed hungry children all over the world

*Hilmar Clothes for Kids – To help clothe underprivileged children

*Bradley Pacheco Memorial Toy Drive – Toys to hospitalized children at Christmas time.

*Hughson Elementary School “Elf Project” – To help local children in need

At Danielle’s Gift, we view the coming of a new year as an opportunity to continue our mission of bringing hope to children in need.  We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to making our first year successful, and with your continued support, can make 2012 a year of hope for those children who have lost theirs.
